SC-P1 / WARRANTY

Every part is covered. New and used are covered differently

What the warranty covers, what it does not, what voids it, and exactly how a claim works.

90-day cover, used parts30-day returns$0 restockingFreight and parcel

Every part we sell is covered, but not by the same warranty. A used part carries
our own 90 day parts-only warranty from the date it is delivered to you — the standard across the professional
salvage trade, and a term we can actually honor rather than a number chosen to look good. A new part
carries the manufacturer's own warranty on their terms, which we pass through and handle on your behalf. The section
below sets out both, and the rest of this page describes our own used-part cover in detail.

New parts and used parts are covered differently

We sell both. Every listing states which one it is, and the cover follows the condition.

Condition What covers it Length
New The manufacturer's own warranty, passed through to you. We are not the manufacturer and we do not set or extend their terms As stated by that manufacturer
Used Our own 90 day parts-only warranty, described on this page 90 days from delivery

On a new part we handle the claim with the manufacturer on your behalf. We will tell you their terms before
you buy if you ask, and we will not quote a duration we cannot evidence. On a used part the warranty below is
ours and we honor it directly.

We are not an authorized dealer for any parts brand we carry. We stock new parts as an
independent retailer. Brand names are used to identify what a part fits and who made it, nothing more.

The warranty at a glance

What the warranty covers

It covers the honesty of the listing. Specifically, we warrant that:

  • The part is the part described, for the years, make and model stated on the listing.
  • It has no structural damage, cracks or previous repair that we did not disclose.
  • Mounting points, brackets and hardware are present as described, and are not damaged in a way we did not show.
  • Any feature we listed, such as fog light provision, sensor holes, a camera cutout or a step, is genuinely there.
  • The photographs are of the actual unit you receive, not a representative sample.

What it does not cover

The exclusions below apply to our own used-part warranty. There are things a used-parts warranty
cannot sensibly promise, and we would rather say so plainly than bury it. Cover on a new part is whatever the
manufacturer states for that product.

  • Cosmetic wear we disclosed. Scratches, scuffs, rock chips and minor dings described on the
listing are the reason the part costs what it does.
  • Paint match. Factory paint codes fade at different rates. A color-matched panel from a donor
truck will rarely be an exact match to a vehicle that has spent years in the sun.
  • Labor, towing, rental vehicles, downtime or loss of use.
  • Damage caused during installation, including drilling, cutting, grinding, forcing a mount or
    over-torquing a fastener.
  • Modification of any kind, including repainting, refinishing, powder coating or welding.
  • Collision, off-road impact, or competition use after the part is fitted.
  • Corrosion that develops after delivery.

What voids it outright

The warranty ends the moment the part is modified or damaged by installation. That is the single most common
reason a claim fails anywhere in this trade. If a part does not appear to fit, stop and call us before you
force anything
. Once a mounting hole has been drilled out or a bracket bent, we cannot take it back and
neither can anyone else.

How to make a claim

  1. Call (915) 321-4525 or email sales@steelcreekoffroad.com
within the 90 day window. Have your order number ready.
  2. Send photographs of the problem, including a wide shot that shows the whole part and a close shot of the fault.
  3. We respond with a decision, usually the same business day. If we need the part back we send you the return
    instructions in writing.
  4. If the claim is upheld we refund you in
full, and we pay the return freight.
  5. Refunds are issued within 5 business days of the part arriving back and being inspected. Your bank sets its
    own posting time after that.

Parts we do not sell, and why

We do not sell airbags, airbag modules, seatbelts, seatbelt pretensioners, clock springs or any other supplemental
restraint component, in any condition, at any price. A used restraint component cannot be tested or recertified
against the federal performance standard it was built to, several states prohibit fitting a salvaged airbag system
outright, and an undeployed module is regulated hazardous goods for shipping. We also do not sell parts subject to
an open safety recall, or anything that defeats or removes emissions control equipment.

Where we sell a seat assembly, it is supplied without supplemental restraint components. Any
airbag module or pretensioner is removed and is not included in the sale.
